It’s great to see the team already back in action only five days after a national event. They will start off Saturday with racing the pro men’s Enduro. With some stacked competition which is always present in Southern California. After only two stages of racing it was Nik Nestoroff who would take the win on the day and right behind him would be Steven Walton! Kailey Skelton would opt out of the Pro women’s Enduro and only be focusing on Sundays Downhill finals.
Sunday morning the sun was back out and weather was in prime conditions for racing. All three athletes would have great morning practice with doing two runs each. For this race it was going to be a very tight short track with the famous notorious Fontana wall not being included in this event. They had some great competition out there to compete against with names like Austin Dooley and Cole Suetos. After the dust settled and the race was over it was Kailey Skelton who would take the Pro women’s win!
On the men’s side it would be Steven Walton who came out in third place only two seconds off the pace of first and Nik Nestoroff would end up coming in fourth place. It is always great to be supporting local racing and regional events like the Fontana winter series.
The team was very stoked with their performance and feeling very good on the bikes. They will continue training for about 10 more days until they are off for a big UCI downhill event in Costa Rica to accumulate 2021 UCI World Cup Downhill points and continue their efforts on preparing them for more national races and World Cup events for the near future!
Cheers
